The Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on Thursday, bringing the Monsoon Session to a close after the House passed the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, amid repeated disruptions and heated political exchanges.
The session concluded with the singing of the full Vande Mataram.
In his concluding remarks, Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan expressed concern over the persistent disorder and frequent disruptions during the session.
He said the House functioned for a total of 37 hours and 49 minutes during the session. Despite interruptions, the Rajya Sabha completed its legislative business by considering and passing or returning 12 Bills.
Radhakrishnan said the floor of the House remained open to members to raise issues concerning the people they represented, but the opportunity was not fully utilised.
He also cautioned that repeated disruptions could affect public trust and called for greater adherence to parliamentary conduct.
