The South Western Railway has announced the introduction of Holi special trains from Bengaluru to Bengal, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during the Holi festival. These special services aim to facilitate easier travel for individuals wishing to visit family or partake in celebrations across various regions.

Schedule for Bengaluru to West Bengal Trains

Train Number 06565

Departure: SMVT Bengaluru – 11:40 PM (Sundays, March 1 and 8)

Arrival: Malda Town, West Bengal – 4:30 PM (Tuesdays)

Train Number 06566

Departure: Malda Town, West Bengal – 4 PM (Wednesdays, Feb 25, March 4 and 11)

Arrival: SMVT Bengaluru – 12:45 PM (Fridays)

Bi-Weekly Express Train Service

Moreover, a bi-weekly express train will also operate between SMVT Bengaluru and Bidar. This service will run from the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru, with trains scheduled to depart every Friday and Sunday.

Passengers can expect this train to remain operational until late March 2026, providing consistent connectivity for those travelling to celebrate the festival.

Weekly Train Service to Kalaburagi

In addition to the express service, a weekly train will run between Bengaluru Cantonment and Kalaburagi. This route serves as a vital link for travellers from northern Karnataka, allowing them to return home or visit friends and family during the festive season.

Bengaluru and Kolkata Special Train

For those heading towards eastern India, a special train will connect Yelahanka in Bengaluru to Santragachi in Kolkata. This service enhances direct travel options between southern and eastern India, accommodating the needs of passengers looking to attend family gatherings or celebrations during Holi.

All these special trains will adhere to their established timetables and scheduled stops, continuing to operate until the end of March 2026. Passengers are strongly advised to check seat availability and secure their tickets in advance, as demand typically increases during this holiday period.
