US Iran News Today, Middle East War Update: In a positive development amid the middle east crisis, United States of America has announced a pause on strikes on Iran. US President Donald Trump on Monday said that talks with Iran are ‘productive’. Trump has extended his deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, saying the US will hold off on power plant strikes for five days.
Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social site on Monday, just hours ahead of a deadline later in the day.
“I am pleased to report that the United States of America, and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days, very good and complete productive and total resolution of our hostilities in the middle east.”
“Based on the tenor and tone of these indepth, detailed, and constructive conversations, with will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the department of war to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions,” US President said.
Trump did not elaborate on the diplomatic negotiations that had taken place. Iran did not immediately acknowledge any talks between the countries.
