Savannah Guthrie gets emotional and blames herself for her mom, Nancy’s disappearance
Recently, Savannah Guthrie sat for an interview with Hoda Kotb. During the conversation, the host asked Savannah whether she and her family had discussed what might have happened to Nancy. In response, the Today co-host shared that her brother, a former fighter pilot in the military who also worked in intelligence, was the first to believe that Nancy was kidnapped for ransom. Soon, devastated Savannah feared whether it was because of her and her fame. She also asked her brother, and he told her that it might be so. Blaming herself for Nancy’s kidnapping, Savannah said:
“I said, ‘Do you think because of me?’ And he said, ‘I’m sorry, sweetie, but yeah, maybe.’ It’s too much to bear to think that I brought this to her bedside. That it’s because of me. If it is me, I’m so sorry.”
