US-Israel-Iran War Update: As tensions across West Asia continue to escalate days after the United States and Israel launched a coordinated missile strike on Iran, causing both military and civilian casualties across the country and multiple other cities, Tehran has now struck a defiant tone, saying that it is prepared for a prolonged conflict and also held the American administration fully responsible for the bloodshed.
What Iran’s Foreign Minister Said
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has warned that the country is prepared for a prolonged conflict and that any nation choosing to wage war against Iran will face serious consequences.
Taking to social media platform X, he wrote, “Long prepared for this war, Iran’s Powerful Armed Forces are ensuring that it becomes a quagmire for whomever chooses to pursue it.”
Araqchi also held the US administration fully responsible for the bloodshed.
“We negotiated twice with this U.S. Administration. Both times, we were attacked in the middle of talks. It bears full responsibility for bloodshed,” the post read.
US-Iran-Israel war updates
Amid the rapidly intensifying conflict in West Asia, more than 780 people have been killed in Iran since the US and Israel began their strikes on February 27, 2026, the Iranian Red Crescent reported.
Israel’s military said on March 4, 2026, that it had launched a “broad wave of strikes” on targets inside Iran, hours after the Islamic Republic fired three separate barrages of missiles towards Israeli territory.

The strikes put nearby oil-producing Gulf Arab nations on edge as escalation fears across the region grew. Israel said that Iran responded by launching missiles towards them.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, an arterial waterway located between Oman and Iran, raising fears of soaring oil prices.
India comfortable on petroleum supply
India remains in a comfortable position with regard to petroleum products and is actively negotiating with partners across the world, government sources told ET Now. The sources also assured that there will be no impact on CNG and PNG consumers.

Sources said the overseas supply shortfall will be managed through domestic reprioritisation. They noted that Qatar supplies about 20 per cent of global LNG requirements and that QatarEnergy has declared force majeure. However, sources added that India has other options to secure LNG supply, with Indian companies in touch with various overseas firms. They also said India is now buying LNG from the UAE, while Australia and Canada have also offered supply.
