New Delhi: A woman in Delhi has alleged that an Uber bike rider molested her during a late-night trip booked through the ride-hailing app, police said on Thursday. According to the complaint, the incident took place around 1:28 am on March 12. The woman had booked a bike ride through Uber from Rohini Sector 15 to MP Block Market in Pitampura. The driver, whose name appeared as “Sachin” on the app, reached the pickup location and the ride began normally. However, the woman alleged that shortly after the journey started, the rider began behaving inappropriately.
In her complaint, the woman claimed the rider repeatedly touched her in an indecent manner while the bike was moving. When she objected to his actions, he allegedly started riding at a high speed and applied sudden brakes, making the situation more frightening. As the ride continued, the woman asked the driver to stop the bike. Instead, she alleged that he grabbed her from behind and molested her. She also claimed the rider threatened to kill her if she tried to raise an alarm.
The woman further stated that the driver suddenly changed the route shown on the mobile application and began heading in a different direction, which increased her fear.

No FIR Registered Yet
Fearing for her safety, the woman started shouting and warned the rider that she would jump off the moving bike if he did not stop. According to the complaint, the rider then stopped the bike near Sarvodaya Vidyalaya F-U Block, asked her to get down and fled the spot. Police said they have received the complaint and are currently examining the allegations. So far, no FIR has been registered in the case.
