Taylor Sheridan's The Madison, Tribute To Robert Redford And Two Lead Characters' Passing Explained

Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan is all set to make wonders again, as she recently dropped a new series, The Madison. The series was released on Paramount+, and three episodes are up as of March 14, 2026, with the other three episodes being scheduled for next Saturday, i.e. on March 21. Initially, it was said that The Madison could have a similar narrative to Yellowstone or it could also be a spin-off, an unverified claim and assumption, which was later dismissed by Forbes. While Robert Redford didn’t have any involvement in Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison, a tribute was paid to him in the premiere episode. What was the reason behind the same? Let’s have a look!

In the very first episode of The Madison, Robert Redford is credited, with the context being given clearly, which was that he didn’t work in the series, but it’s meaningful rather than ornamental. Robert Redford passed away at the age of 89 in September 2025, and as he was introduced in the series, it kind of left people with the question of why. To mention, while Robert Redford didn’t act or have any involvement in the series, he had been someone who played a role in Sheridan’s career.
