The Delhi government assured that the supply of LPG, petrol, diesel and PNG across the national capital remains completely normal and there is no scarcity of any fuel. The government has advised the residents to refrain from panic buying or hoarding and urged them to ignore baseless rumours regarding disruptions in the fuel supply chain.
Indraprastha Gas assures uninterrupted PNG, CNG supply
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), meanwhile, has assured consumers of uninterrupted supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for household cooking and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicles.
The assurance comes after the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) Order, 2026, dated March 9, 2026, under which the supply of natural gas to Domestic PNG and CNG has been classified as the topmost priority sector.
In a statement, the company said that it remains committed to ensuring an uninterrupted supply of natural gas for households and transport services in line with the government mandate.
“Accordingly we would like to assure the uninterrupted supply of Domestic PNG for household cooking and CNG for fueling for public transport and private vehicles to maintain urban mobility as per the government mandate and availability of natural gas supply,” the company said.
IGL further stated that it remains focused on maintaining high standards of service and ensuring that customer needs remain at the centre of its operations.
“IGL remains persistent in its commitment to excellence, ensuring that customer service is at the heart of every endeavour we undertake,” the company added.
The assurance from the gas distributor comes at a time when global energy markets are witnessing heightened volatility due to disruptions in crude oil and natural gas supplies.
Furthermore, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have certified that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG are available, ensuring the supply chain operates seamlessly.

Revised booking norms and delivery status
The government informed that the minimum interval for LPG refill bookings has been revised from 21 days to 25 days. Despite this revision, consumers are receiving refills within an average of two to three days from the date of booking. To streamline the process, the government encourages the use of digital platforms for bookings.
For instance, if a cylinder was delivered on February 1, 2026, the subsequent booking can be placed on or after February 26, 2026. Consumers can avail of multiple booking options, including web portals, SMS, IVRS, missed-call services, and WhatsApp, eliminating the need to visit gas agencies physically.
Crackdown on hoarding and illegal use
The Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs has deployed field officers to facilitate hassle-free bookings and ensure compliance. Enforcement teams are conducting rigorous inspections to curb black-marketing and hoarding. A strict vigil is being maintained to prevent the diversion of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial use in restaurants and eateries. The government is also making necessary arrangements to ensure the regulated supply of commercial LPG in due course.
The Delhi Government once again appealed to the public to remain assured of fuel availability and avoid any panic-driven purchases.
Supply of CNG, PNG remains stable: THINK Gas
THINK Gas, a leading player in the city gas distribution business, said the supply of CNG and PNG continues to remain stable across geographical areas, with prices remaining unchanged at present.
THINK Gas, in a company statement, clarified that with volatility in global energy markets, there was no disruption in gas supply across its authorised geographical areas as Compressed Natural Gas and Piped Natural Gas services continue to be available.
The company’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Vinukumar Balakrishnan said, “The Government of India’s decision to invoke provisions under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and issue the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) Order, 2026 reflects a proactive approach to safeguarding natural gas availability amid disruptions in LNG shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.”
He further said, “At THINK Gas, our immediate priority remains ensuring uninterrupted supply to households and essential services consumers and to the transport sector across our geographical areas, in line with the government’s priority allocation framework for household cooking needs and essential mobility.”
THINK Gas provides natural gas across 49 districts in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, the statement added.

Crude oil, LPG supplies facing significant disruptions
