
The Goiania accident that happened in 1987 still remains as one of the deadliest incidents of all times. For the unversed, it was a radioactive accident which took the lives of a few innocents. Well, the recently released Netflix show, Radioactive Emergency revisits the chilling story. The docudrama, created by Gustavo Lipsztein and starring Tuca Andrada, Antonio Saboia, Bukassa Kabengele and more hit the OTT giant on March 18, 2026. What happens in Radioactive Emergency?
The series opens in a closed and abandoned medical clinic in Goiania, a place in Brazil. Despite being closed, the clinic still contains a radiotherapy machine. The clinic is under legal dispute, and the authorities are not given proper information about the dangerous machines. Amid this, two people break into the building and find a machine, that they think is waste and harmless. They sell it to a local scrap yard owner, ‘Evenildo’ (played by Bukassa Kabengele).
