middle east crisis: iran’s supreme leader khamenei backs keeping strait of hormuz closed; trump says us profits when oil prices rise

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said the Strait of Hormuz should remain closed and asserted that Iran will not give up on avenging the attack on a school. He thanked the military and urged a record turnout at rallies across Iran.

Khamenei said Iran is targeting only military bases and will continue to do so, while also stating that Iran believes in friendship with its neighbours. He added that Iran will seek compensation from the enemy and called on regional countries to close US bases.

This was Mojtaba’s first brief after becoming Iran’s supreme leader.

When oil prices go up, we make a lot of money: US President

US President Donald Trump said that the United States is the largest oil producer in the world, adding that when oil prices go up, the US makes a lot of money. He said stopping Iran from having nuclear weapons is more important to him, as well as preventing Iran from destroying the Middle East and the world.
