Indian-Emirati multinational conglomerate Lulu Group has stood out in this state of need and is increasing operations by chartering special cargo flights to airlift fresh produce straight into the UAE, ensuring their supermarket shelves stay fully stocked nationwide amid the current supply pressures.
One of the company’s most recent consignments touched down this morning (March 7) aboard an Etihad Airways cargo freighter, delivering roughly 12,000 packages of fresh fruits and vegetables straight from India to Abu Dhabi. Weighing in at around 80,000 kilograms, this shipment is a key part of Lulu Group’s ongoing push to bolster supply chains and keep essential fresh items flowing into the UAE. In their statement to Gulf News, Lulu confirmed that more cargo flights are already lined up over the next few days to sustain healthy stock levels in all their stores nationwide.
These dedicated cargo flights enable Lulu Group to rush large quantities of perishable goods into the UAE at high speed, guaranteeing that fresh fruits, vegetables, and other essentials stay readily available for customers in their stores. The latest batch from India brought in thousands of packages of top-quality produce, which will now be spread out to Lulu supermarkets nationwide. India continues to serve as one of the retailer’s primary sourcing hubs for fresh food imports into the UAE.
Previously, Lulu Group arranged a dedicated cargo shipment that brought in around 80 tonnes of meat from New Delhi. More consignments are lined up from other major Indian cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Besides India, the retailer is collaborating closely with suppliers in additional international markets, including Melbourne, to further strengthen its overall fresh food supply chain into the UAE.

He also highlighted that Lulu Group’s extensive global sourcing and logistics setup enables the company to explore multiple markets seamlessly, securing reliable supplies and ensuring food products remain steadily available on store shelves.
With a comprehensive procurement system spanning several countries, Lulu can quickly reroute and deliver shipments into the UAE as needed, keeping the supply chain resilient even under pressure.
