New Delhi: The Delhi government on Thursday said that supply of LPG, petrol, diesel, and PNG across the National Capital remains completely normal and there is no scarcity of fuel, amid war crisis in the middle east. The government advised residents to refrain from panic buying or hoarding and are urged to ignore baseless rumours regarding disruptions in the fuel supply chain. According to a press note issued by the government, the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has confirmed that domestic PNG supply remains stable, with natural gas allocation continuing to prioritise domestic and transport sector (CNG) consumers. Furthermore, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have certified that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG are available, ensuring the supply chain operates seamlessly.

Delhi Govt on Revised Booking Norms and Delivery Status
The government informed that the minimum interval for LPG refill bookings has been revised from 21 days to 25 days. Despite this revision, consumers are receiving refills within an average of two to three days from the date of booking. To streamline the process, the government encourages the use of digital platforms for bookings.
For instance, if a cylinder was delivered on February 1, 2026, the subsequent booking can be placed on or after February 26, 2026. Consumers can avail of multiple booking options, including web portals, SMS, IVRS, missed-call services, and WhatsApp, eliminating the need to visit gas agencies physically.
Crackdown on Hoarding, Illegal Use
Delhi’s Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs has deployed field officers to facilitate hassle-free bookings and ensure compliance. Enforcement teams are conducting rigorous inspections to curb black-marketing and hoarding. The government also informed that a strict vigil is being maintained to prevent the diversion of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial use in restaurants and eateries. The government is also making necessary arrangements to ensure the regulated supply of commercial LPG in due course.
PM Modi Warns Black Marketers, Hits Out at Those Creating Panic Around LPG Supply
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at those trying to create panic on the LPG situation in India, and said they are not only exposing themselves before the people but also hurting the country.
Addressing a summit in Delhi, the Prime Minister said that no country is untouched by the present crisis in West Asia and the government is doing everything possible to safeguard India’s energy security.
He also said that some people are trying to black-market certain products by taking advantage of the present situation, and warned that action will be taken against such unscrupulous elements.
“Some people are trying to create panic on LPG. Without making a political point, I will say they are not only exposing themselves before people but hurting the country,” Modi said.
The prime minister also said that everyone has a key role to play in dealing with the present crisis arising out of the conflict in West Asia – be it political parties, media, youth, cities or villages.
Despite many global crises, world leaders and experts look to India with great hope, which raises India’s responsibilities too, Modi said.
