Delhi Woman Beheaded in UP: The Bulandshahr Police in Uttar Pradesh achieved a major breakthrough in the case of a headless woman’s body discovered near a canal in a forested stretch of Ghunghrawali village on March 15. According to the police, the victim’s identity was confirmed by her family when the officials shared a post with whatever details they gathered during the investigation. This led to the arrest of two individuals, including the woman’s lover who allegedly have confessed to kill her.
The incident unfolded on March 15 when Vikas Kumar, the prime accused, called Babli to his village in Bulandshahr. Once there, Vikas, his cousin Sachin, and his friend Aman Kumar consumed alcohol before carrying out the crime. According to Bulandshahr SP City Shanker Prasad, the trio grabbed Babli by her limbs, decapitated her with a sharp weapon, and threw her head approximately 500 metres away from her body in a deliberate attempt to hide her identity and slow down the investigation, reported by The Times of India.

Accused-Victim Relationship
After losing her husband to cancer about two-and-a-half years ago, she had found companionship in Vikas Kumar, a 32-year-old native of Bulandshahr who had once worked alongside her late husband at a private hospital. The two began living together in Delhi, and for a while, life seemed to move forward. But that stability did not last.
In December 2025, Vikas decided to marry someone else, while Babli allegedly continued to pressure him to stay with her.
Vikas Attended Family Function in Ghaziabad After the Murder
After committing the crime, Vikas showed little sign of remorse or panic. He attended a family function in his village, then quietly returned to Muradnagar in Ghaziabad, where he had settled after his marriage. To throw investigators off his trail, he even filed a missing person complaint, a move that only deepened the cruelty of what he had done.
Meanwhile, the family of Babli came to know about her death on March 22, when her mother, daughter, and brother-in-law came across a photo posted by the police on social media and recognised her.
Arrests and Arms Recovery
Police surveillance found Vikas near the crime scene, which led to his arrest in Muradnagar. Aman Kumar was picked up separately from Bulandshahr. The sharp weapon used in the murder, along with illegal firearms and the motorcycle linked to the accused, were all recovered.
Both Vikas and Aman have since confessed to the crime. A search is currently underway for the third accused, Sachin. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, covering charges of murder and destruction of evidence.
