Israel-Iran War: Amid the escalating tensions in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with a host of Gulf leaders and thanked them for extending help and support to the Indian diaspora. In the last 48 hours, PM Modi has spoken to the leaders of UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and ⁠Qatar.

PM Modi speaks with the UAE President

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Condemning the attacks on the UAE, PM Modi expressed that “India stands in solidarity with the UAE in these difficult times.”

The Prime Minister also thanked the UAE President for taking care of the Indian community living in the UAE. He further emphasised that India supports de-escalation, regional peace, security and stability in the region.

Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “Spoke with President of the UAE, my brother Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Strongly condemned the attacks on the UAE and condoled the loss of lives in these attacks. India stands in solidarity with the UAE in these difficult times. Thanked him for taking care of the Indian community living in the UAE. We support de-escalation, regional peace, security and stability.”

PM Modi speaks to Israeli PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the evolving regional situation amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

During the call, PM Modi conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and underscored that the safety of civilians must remain the utmost priority.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Had a telephone call with PM Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the current regional situation. Conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and emphasised the safety of civilians as a priority. India reiterates the need for an early cessation of hostilities.”

PM Modi speaks to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday, during which he also condemned the recent attacks on the country.

“Discussed the evolving situation in West Asia with Crown Prince and PM of Saudi Arabia, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman. India condemns the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia in violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We agreed that earliest restoration of regional peace and stability is of utmost importance. I thanked him for looking after the well-being of the Indian community in these difficult times,” PM Modi posted on X.

PM Modi speaks to King of Jordan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to King Abdullah II of Jordan and conveyed deep concern at the evolving situation in the region.

He reaffirmed India’s support for peace, security and the well-being of the people of Jordan.

In a social media post, PM Modi thanked the King for taking care of the Indian community in Jordan in this difficult hour.

PM Modi speaks to King of Bahrain

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. Condemning the attacks on Bahrain, Modi said that India stands in solidarity with its people in this difficult hour. He thanked the King of Bahrain for the steadfast support extended to the Indian community in the country.

PM Modi speaks to Sultan of Oman, crown prince of Kuwait

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

Citing officials, news agency PTI reported that in his telephonic conversations with the two leaders, PM Modi discussed the welfare and security of the Indian diaspora residing in those countries.
