Iran Embassy in India requests cash donations amid fund transfer issues – DETAILS

iran embassy in india requests cash donations amid fund transfer issues - details

The Embassy of Iran in India has informed supporters that it is currently experiencing difficulties in receiving donations through bank transfers and certain digital payment channels. The development was shared through an official post by the embassy on social media, where it thanked Indian citizens for their continued support and solidarity during a challenging period.

According to the embassy, several well-wishers in India had recently approached the mission seeking ways to provide humanitarian assistance to Iranian citizens affected by the ongoing conflict. In response to these requests, the embassy had been facilitating donations meant to support those impacted by the situation in Iran. However, technical and procedural issues in transferring funds to the embassy’s official account have temporarily disrupted the process.

The embassy said that due to these reported difficulties, people willing to contribute should avoid using Google Pay (GP) for donations for the time being, as the platform is currently not functioning for this purpose. Authorities at the mission clarified that they are actively working to resolve the issue and restore normal fund transfer mechanisms as soon as possible.

Until the matter is addressed, the embassy has advised donors who still wish to offer support to make cash donations directly at the embassy premises in New Delhi. This arrangement, officials said, will ensure that humanitarian contributions continue to reach the intended recipients despite the temporary payment constraints.

In its statement, the embassy expressed appreciation for the support received from Indian citizens. It acknowledged the repeated requests from charitable individuals and groups who have shown willingness to extend humanitarian help to Iranian nationals affected by the conflict.

The embassy also conveyed its gratitude to what it described as its ‘Indian brothers and sisters’ for standing in solidarity during this time. It emphasised that the response from people in India has reflected strong humanitarian concern and goodwill.

Officials further assured that the technical issues related to fund transfers are being addressed, and an update will be shared once digital or bank-based donation channels become operational again.

The embassy concluded its message by thanking supporters for their patience and understanding while the issue is being resolved, reiterating that the contributions are meant to assist those in need during the ongoing crisis.
