The Indian Government has asked all its refiners ‌to ⁠maximise ⁠production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and make the fuel available only to three state-run ⁠companies – Indian Oil (IOL), ‌Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a ⁠government order showed.

Thursday’s order, as reported by Reuters, also asked refiners not to use propane and butane for petrochemical production. Liquefied Petroleum Gas is a combination of propane and butane.
