Helpline alert for Indians: In consideration of the prevailing security scenario in West Asia and Gulf countries, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, has established a Special Control Room to help Indian citizens in these areas.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday, March 4, said it has set up a special control room in view of the evolving situation in West Asia and the Gulf region and released emergency contact numbers of Indian embassies across the region to assist Indian nationals.
The Control Room, set up at the MEA headquarters, will operate daily from 9 am to 9 pm. Indian citizens seeking assistance or information can reach the dedicated helplines at 1800118797 (toll-free), +91 11 2301 2113, +91 11 2301 4104, and +91 11 2301 7905, said the MEA in a statement.
The move comes amid heightened regional tensions, with authorities closely monitoring developments and prioritising the safety and welfare of Indian nationals residing in or travelling through the region.
In addition to the central Control Room in New Delhi, the MEA has also shared emergency contact numbers of Indian Embassies and Missions across West Asia to provide immediate on-ground assistance.
