Ghaziabad: Two unidentified men stabbed a well-known YouTuber multiple times in the neck and stomach at his home office in Ghaziabad’s Loni area on Friday morning. The victim, Salim Wastik, who identifies himself as a former Muslim, is currently undergoing treatment at Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital after being referred there in critical condition.
The attack took place at around 8 am in Ashok Vihar Colony in Loni area of Ghaziabad. Two young men arrived on a motorcycle with no number plate. Both were wearing helmets and their faces were not visible. They entered the premises where Salim Wastik, around 50 years old, runs a small office inside his home.
How the Attack Happened
According to police, the two attackers entered the office and stabbed Wastik multiple times with a knife, targeting his neck and stomach. They also attempted to slit his throat. After the attack, both men fled the scene immediately.
Family members and neighbours rushed to help and took Wastik in a serious condition to a nearby hospital. Doctors described his condition as critical and he was subsequently referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi where he is currently receiving treatment. Police received information about the stabbing through Dial 112 at around 8 am. A team rushed to the Ali Garder area and reached the spot. The injured man was identified as Salim, son of Noor Hasan, a resident of the area.
Ghaziabad police have begun scanning CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the area to identify the attackers. Wastik’s son has named several people in his complaint to police. Multiple teams have been formed to track down the accused.
Police say all possible angles are being investigated and no lead is being ruled out. Further investigation is underway.
