New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 day-night cricket match between South Africa and Zimbabwe at Arun Jaitley Stadium (Feroz Shah Kotla) on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The match is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and traffic arrangements will be in place from 12:00 noon to 10:00 PM.
Routes to Avoid
Several major roads near the stadium are expected to see heavy traffic during this time. These include JLN Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate up to Kamla Market roundabout on both sides of the road, Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate, and Bahadurshah Zafar Marg from Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk on both sides.
Heavy vehicles will not be allowed on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg from Daryaganj, or on Asaf Ali Road from Guru Nanak Chowk. People travelling from New Delhi Railway Station are advised to be careful, as Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and ITO Chowk are likely to be heavily congested.
Diversions and Restrictions
Police may put up diversions on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg as needed. Vehicles may be turned away at any point during the event, except for emergency vehicles which will always be allowed through.
How to Enter the Stadium
Depending on which gate your ticket is for, here is where you should enter from:
Gates 1 to 8 (South side) – Enter from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg. Gates 10 to 15 (East side) – Enter from JLN Marg, next to Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal. Gates 16, 17 and 18 (West side) – Enter from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg near the petrol pump.

There is no general public parking near the stadium. Only vehicles with an official parking label will be allowed close to the ground.
Free parking is available at three locations — Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road, and Velodrome Road. A free shuttle service will also run from these parking spots to the stadium and back.

Key Advice for Commuters
Plan your journey in advance and leave early. Use alternate routes wherever possible to avoid getting stuck in traffic. If you are driving, consider parking at one of the free parking zones and taking the shuttle to the stadium instead.
