Delhi: The Delhi Metro has carried out major overhauling work on escalators at several stations on the Blue Line to improve safety and ensure smoother movement of passengers. According to an advisory, the maintenance work is being done at stations including

  • Laxmi Nagar (Ground to Concourse)
  • Preet Vihar (Concourse to Platform-2)
  • RK Ashram Marg (Ground to Concourse)

The escalators undergoing work connect key areas such as platforms, concourses and ground levels at these stations. During the maintenance period, passengers have been advised to use lifts available at the stations. Officials said the work is part of efforts to improve commuter safety and ensure that escalators function properly without breakdowns.

Escalator Services Restored at These Stations

In view of the earlier advisory, the metro authorities also said that overhaul work has already been completed at some stations which started on March 5.

Escalator services have been restored at Preet Vihar (Platform-1 to Concourse), Laxmi Nagar (Concourse to Platform-2) and Botanical Garden (Ground to Concourse) today. Passengers can now use escalators normally at these stations.

Earlier, the escalators services at these stations were fully restored in March 13.

  • Nirman Vihar (Platform-1 to Concourse)
  • Golf Course (Ground to Concourse)
  • Noida City Centre (Ground to Concourse)

The Delhi Metro thanked commuters for their patience and cooperation during the maintenance work and said such upgrades are necessary to keep services safe and reliable.
