At least ten schools across Ahmedabad city, Ahmedabad district and Gandhinagar received threat emails on Wednesday, triggering a major security alert and large-scale checks by police agencies.

According to officials, four schools in Ahmedabad received emails threatening bomb blasts, leading to panic among school authorities and parents. The schools included Maharaja Agrasen, DAV International School, Zydus School and Zebar School.

Police teams immediately rushed to the campuses and launched searches. No suspicious object has been found so far, officials said.

Bomb Threat Email Mentions Amit Shah, Sabarmati Jail and Lawrence Bishnoi

The threat emails were received around 8.35 am, with the subject line claiming that bomb explosions would take place at 1.11 pm. The email warned of blasts not only in schools but also from “schools to Sabarmati Jail”.

It also made references to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail.

Police sources said the language used in the email suggests it may have been sent in the name of Khalistani extremists, though this is yet to be confirmed.

The email claimed that Amit Shah and Lawrence Bishnoi were on the sender’s “target list” and mentioned the Khalistani referendum, along with references to the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. It further alleged that Home Minister Amit Shah would have to “face consequences” over the issue.

Ahmedabad Crime Branch Joint Commissioner Sharad Singhal said that while no suspicious items have been recovered from any of the schools, all necessary precautionary security measures have been put in place.

Bomb detection squads, dog squads and local police teams are continuing intensive searches, and the source of the emails is being traced.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing and security has been tightened across sensitive locations in the city.
