Bengaluru police have announced traffic diversions around Freedom Park following large-scale protests planned from March 23 to March 25. A large number of protesters and vehicles are expected to crowd Seshadri Road and surrounding areas during these three days. To avoid getting stuck in heavy traffic, commuters are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
1. Coming from Shanthala Junction or Khoday Circle
If you are trying to reach Anand Rao Flyover, Seshadri Road, or Freedom Park from these points, do not take your usual road. Instead, go via Lulu Mall Road → KFM Road → Rajiv Gandhi Circle → Mantri Mall Road → Swastik Circle → Seshadripuram → Nehru Circle → Race Course Flyover → Race Course Road. It is a longer route but will save you from getting stuck.
2. Coming from Mysore Bank side and heading to Basaveshwara Circle
Instead of your normal path, take this route: KG Road → Mysore Bank Junction → Sagar Junction → KG Junction → Tank Bund Road → KFM Road → Rajiv Gandhi Circle → Swastik Circle → Nehru Circle → Race Course Flyover Road. Follow these turns one by one and you will reach Basaveshwara Circle without entering the protest zone.

3. Coming from Basaveshwara Circle and heading towards Mysore Bank
This route is simpler. Just take Raj Bhavan Road and then Infantry Road to get to your destination. Traffic on this side is expected to be relatively smoother.
4. Coming from Kalidasa Road or Kanakadasa Junction towards Freedom Park
You will not be allowed to go straight towards Freedom Park. Police will turn you right at Kanakadasa Junction, from where you will be directed towards Sagar Junction. Follow the signs and police instructions at the junction.
5. Coming from Maurya or Subbanna Junction towards Freedom Park
At Subbanna Junction, you will be made to take a right turn towards Anand Rao Circle. Do not attempt to go straight towards Freedom Park as that road will be blocked or heavily congested.
Key Takeaways for Commuters:
Avoid the Freedom Park, Seshadri Road, and surrounding areas from March 23 to 25
Start your journey earlier than usual to account for extra travel time
Check traffic updates on Google Maps or local news before stepping out
If your destination is not urgent, consider staying off the roads during peak protest hours
