Bengaluru Society Brawl On Camera: Punches, Kicks Fly Over Dog Walking And Peeing

bengaluru society brawl on camera: punches, kicks fly over dog walking and peeing

Bengaluru: A scuffle broke out between residents of an apartment over walking a pet dog in an apartment complex and ended up in a physical altercation. The incident, involving senior citizens at an apartment complex in Bengaluru took place at Brigade Eutopia East Antopia Apartment in Bengaluru‘s Varthur area when a resident, Tarun Arora, had taken his dog out for a walk.

According to a police complaint, the apartment complex has a designated space for senior citizens to walk and exercise and Arora had reportedly brought his dog near the same area.

Senior citizens present there questioned him about bringing the dog close to the walking zone and allowing it to urinate nearby, which allegedly led to a heated argument with both Arora and the senior citizens assaulting each other.

Both sides have filed complaints against each other at Varthur Police Station.

Bengaluru Residents Brawl Over Dog

According to the FIR filed by Arora, senior citizens present at the spot questioned him about bringing his dog close to their walking zone and allowing it to urinate nearby, which led to a heated argument. “When the complainant tried to move towards the SRF Theatre Nagar road, the same group followed him and continued the verbal abuse. When he attempted to record the incident on his mobile phone, Om Prakash Bajpai, about 81 years old and a resident of Eden in Yediyurappa, allegedly snatched the phone from his hand,” the FIR states.

“Immediately after this, around five to six people suddenly attacked the complainant as a group. They allegedly pushed him to the ground and assaulted him, hitting him with their hands and legs, causing injuries,” it further states.

The senior citizens, however, tell a different story. According to their FIR, Arora had been repeatedly warned in the past not to bring his dog near their yoga and walking area, as the apartment association had already allotted a separate park for pets.

“A resident named Shreyas Tarun Aravasa, who lives in flat number A2503 of Serene Tower A, frequently brings his pet dog to the same area and walks around during the residents’ yoga sessions, disturbing them. His dog allegedly dirties the place where the residents sit and exercise. The Association has already provided a separate Pet Dog Park, but despite this arrangement, he intentionally continues to bring the dog to the yoga area. Residents have politely requested him several times not to do so, but he has ignored their requests,” their FIR states.

The elderly residents further alleged that on March 3 at around 7:50 am, Arora again came to the same spot. “When the residents tried to stop him and told him not to take photos of them, his mobile phone reportedly fell to the ground. This made him angry, and he allegedly caught hold of the leg of Om Prakash Bajpai, aged 69, and attempted to attack him,” the FIR states.

Further investigation is underway.
