Yelahanka Gas Power Plant Sees Gas Supply Crunch

Amid the ongoing gas crisis, Bengaluru’s Yelahanka Gas Power Plant is facing a gas supply crunch, according to reports. Notably, it was an important backup facility that helped manage the city’s peak electricity demand between December and April.

The plant has halted operations after the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) stopped supplying gas to the unit amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran war, ANI reported.

Notably, the state’s first gas-based power plant has been generating about 370 MW of electricity daily for the Bengaluru grid since September 2024.
