Bengaluru Metro Pink Line Trials Soon: Routes, Stations and Timings — What You Need To Know Before Launch

bengaluru metro pink line trials soon: routes, stations and timings — what you need to know before launch bengaluru news

Bengaluru’s Pink Line of the Namma Metro is set to begin mandatory safety trials conducted by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) before the end of this month. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) confirmed that these trials are crucial for assessing safety and performance standards before the line’s public inauguration, which is targeted for mid-2026.

The RDSO trials are a regulatory requirement for all new metro lines in India. These tests will evaluate various operational parameters, including braking systems, signalling operations, and the structural integrity of the infrastructure.

An official from BMRCL said, “RDSO trials could start before the end of the month; there are some more formalities left. The inspection could take at least two weeks to be completed,” TOI reported.

What’s Next After Trials?

Once the trials are completed, the results will be submitted for technical sanction from the Railway Board. Following this, the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) will conduct a final inspection. Only after receiving CMRS clearance can passenger operations commence.

Fare Structure of Pink Line Metro

As for the fare structure, BMRCL has not yet released specific rates for the Pink Line. However, it is anticipated that the line will follow Namma Metro’s distance-based fare system, with charges likely ranging from Rs 10 for trips up to 2 km to Rs 80 for longer journeys of 20-25 km, according to reports.
