Ahmedabad has witnessed yet another disturbing incident of violence involving school students, raising fresh concerns over safety in educational institutions. The incident occurred outside The National School in the Ghatlodia area, in shocking parallels with the infamous Seventh Day School case.
According to initial information, a student was attacked by a group of nearly eight to nine other students during a clash outside the school premises.
The situation escalated into what witnesses described as a gang war-like scene, with groups of students allegedly attacking each other using sticks, belts and sharp weapons. CCTV footage from the area reportedly captured the violent confrontation.
During the clash, one student was allegedly stabbed. He was immediately taken for medical treatment. Police sources said the student’s condition is stable, and he was discharged after treatment and taken home.
The incident has triggered panic among parents, especially as it comes just five months after a Class 10 student was stabbed to death in August 2025 in a case linked to violence outside Seventh Day School.
That case had sent shockwaves across Gujarat and led to widespread demands for stricter security around schools.
Residents and parents say the latest incident shows that violence in and around schools in Ahmedabad has not abated. Parent organisations have expressed anger and demanded immediate steps to strengthen security and monitoring around school premises.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. The school management has also ordered an internal inquiry.
Ahmedabad Police’s A Division ACP Jayesh Brahmbhatt said the matter is under investigation and all aspects of the incident are being examined.
The latest episode has once again raised serious questions about student safety and the growing trend of violence involving schoolchildren in Gujarat.
