In a piece of heartbreaking news, Dash Crofts, best known for the hit song, Summer Breeze, passed away. It was producer, Louie Shelton who announced that the singer passed away. Shelton has worked closely with Dash and has produced his projects, including 1971’s Year of Sunday, 1972’s Summer Breeze and Diamond Girl, and 1973.
For the unversed, Dash Croft was born in Cisco, Texas. Well, when he was young, he had played the piano for Dean Beard and the Crew Cats. It was here that he met Jim Seals, who was also a Texan. Both of them toured with The Champs back in 1958 and then created their first hit with Tequila. It was in the 1960s when both of them moved to the West Coast, and by 1969, they had created a new soundtrack called the Ultimate Classic Rock.
