Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday (March 26) slammed the opposition for making jokes about her initiative of distributing bicycles to girl students to make their commute to school easier. During a conversation with Times Network Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar at the Times Now Summit 2026, CM Rekha Gupta took a jibe at the opposition and stressed that every “Delhi ki Beti” should provide easy transport access.
Speaking at the Summit, CM Rekha Gupta said, “We planned this important initiative for the education of ‘Delhi ki beti‘, for the girls studying in Delhi government schools who do not have easy access to transport, and whose parents often have to accompany them to school.
While taking a jab at the opposition on sharing memes on her initiative, Gupta said, “Opposition ko mansik roop se diwaliye ghoshit kar dena chahiye.”
The chief minister said that at times, due to this reason, girls have to be forced to drop out if their schools are far from home.
“That’s why every Delhi ki beti should have a bicycle to make commuting to school easier. Delhi ki beti will get the education, and will build her future,” she stressed.
