Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds across Bengaluru and several parts of Karnataka over the next seven days. According to IMD, the city is expected to witness generally cloudy skies with intermittent light rain till March 31, bringing relief from rising temperatures.

Rain, Winds Expected Across Karnataka

The weather department said thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30–40 kmph are likely at isolated places in multiple districts, including Bengaluru Urban and Rural, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Bagalkote, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Gadag, Koppal, Bijapur, Ballari, Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya and Vijayanagar.

Stronger weather activity is expected in districts such as Shivamogga, Haveri, Belagavi and Dharwad, where wind speeds could reach 40–50 kmph along with moderate rainfall and thundershowers.

Week-long Outlook for Bengaluru

IMD’s weekly forecast indicates stable but wet weather conditions for the city:

On March 26, Bengaluru is expected to see a generally cloudy sky with light rain, with temperatures around 20°C to 33°C.

From March 27 to March 31, similar conditions are likely to continue, with cloudy skies and light rain predicted each day. Temperatures are expected to remain steady, with minimum temperatures around 20°C and maximum near 33°C.
