In a major relief to the cricket fans across Bengaluru, the authorities have rolled out a big fan-friendly measure for the IPL 2026. The Namma Metro has announced free Metro rides for match ticket holders, allowing fans to travel without paying fares on match days. Key stations like MG Road and Cubbon Park will serve as major access points to the stadium.

With IPL matches scheduled from March 28 to April 12 at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the measures are aimed at ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for spectators.

Free Metro travel has been integrated with match tickets through a collaboration between the Karnataka State Cricket Association, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited.

Metro Every 3 Minutes, 28 Entry Points At Stations

Fans can access the stadium via both Cubbon Park and MG Road Metro stations, with trains running every three minutes and additional coaches deployed to manage the rush.

To streamline entry, gates will open four hours before the match, with 28 entry points—mainly along Cubbon Road—set up for smoother crowd flow, according to Joint Commissioner of Police C Vamsi Krishna. Authorities have restricted movement on Queens Road and created designated holding areas inside the stadium to prevent overcrowding on surrounding roads. Only valid ticket holders will be allowed near the venue.

Looking For Parking At Chinnaswamy Stadium?

Parking has been arranged at multiple locations, including Garuda Mall, St Joseph’s schools, and Freedom Park, with shuttle minibuses ferrying spectators to the stadium. Limited on-site parking is also available through pre-booking.

Security has been significantly strengthened, with around 500 CCTV cameras, AI-based crowd monitoring systems, and deployment of multiple agencies including Garuda Force, SDRF, civil and traffic police. Emergency arrangements include nine ambulances and four medical centres inside the stadium. Authorities have conducted mock drills, with another scheduled ahead of match day.
