New Delhi: The Congress party has been asked to vacate two key offices in Delhi — one at Akbar Road and another at 5 Raisina Road with a deadline of March 28. Though the notice was issued a few days back, however, the party wants to retain these premises and hence is exploring the legal course of action to challenge the order. ANI quoted Congress sources saying that the Estate Department has given a notice to Congress party to vacate the office allotted to them, 24 Akbar Road, by March 28.
Congress’ office at Akbar Road is the location where it had its office for the last 48 years, however, the party moved to its new headquarters last year at Indira Bhavan at Kotla Marg. However, the Akbar Road premises have not been vacated by the party.
Apart from the office at Akbar Road, the Congress has been asked to vacate the Indian Youth Congress office located at 5 Raisina Road. But the party is mulling over legally challenging eviction orders.
