Residents can expect light to moderate rain in Kolkata tomorrow, as well as in several districts of South Bengal. According to the IMD, favourable wind patterns and significant moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal will contribute to increased thunderstorm activity in the region.

While Kolkata has remained relatively calm with only partly cloudy skies, the wider weather picture shows a more unsettled environment across West Bengal.

Weather Predictions For Surrounding Regions

The forecast predicts that districts in North Bengal, including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar, are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers on March 15 and 16.

Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h are expected at isolated locations across these areas.

What Residents Should Know?

The anticipated rain in Kolkata may lead to traffic disruptions and inconveniences for commuters, particularly during peak hours. Residents are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and remain updated with the latest weather reports.

The IMD has highlighted that the thunderstorms could also bring lightning, which poses a risk to outdoor activities.
