New Delhi: A 60-year-old woman died after her son allegedly pushed her on the floor during a family argument in Delhi’s Seemapuri on Wednesday, police said. The deceased has been identified as Hamidun Nisha, who lived with her family in the area. Her son, Sher Ali (27), who works as a tailor in Loni, has been accused in the case. According to police, the incident happened when Ali was arguing with his wife at home and his mother tried to intervene.
Fight With Wife, Pushed Mother to Death
“As the quarrel escalated, Ali pushed his mother, causing her to fall and suffer a severe head injury. She collapsed at the spot,” a senior police officer said.
“The Woman’s daughter, Sabnam, later gave a statement alleging that her brother had assaulted their mother during the quarrel, which resulted in her death, ” the officer added.
Family members rushed Nisha for medical help, but she died following the incident. Her body has been sent for a postmortem examination. In her statement to police, Nisha’s daughter Sabnam alleged that Ali assaulted their mother during the dispute, which led to her death.
Based on the complaint and preliminary investigation, police have registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with murder.

Police said the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between the accused and his wife. Statements of family members and other witnesses are currently being recorded to understand the full sequence of events.
The body has been sent for post-morten examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Preliminary investigation suggest the mother suffered a fatal head injury after being thrown to the ground the fight between Ali and his wife.
