Aditya Panel Sweeps Directors’ Polls

The Telugu Film Directors’ Association elections, held on Sunday with high enthusiasm, ended in a sweeping victory for the panel led by V.N. Aditya. In a significant result, V.N. Aditya was elected as the President of the association with a record majority, marking one of the most decisive outcomes in the history of the directors’ body.

Along with Aditya’s victory, several key positions were secured by members of his panel. V. Samudra was elected as Vice President, Rama Rao as General Secretary, and Sai Rajesh as Treasurer. The panel’s performance stood out as one of the most successful in the association’s election history, reflecting the strong support it received from members of the Telugu film industry.

Following the announcement of the results, members of the association paid floral tributes at the statue of legendary filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao located at the Film Chamber. Later, the newly elected team addressed the media and shared their vision for the future of the association.

Senior filmmaker Tammareddy Bharadwaja said that the Directors’ Association had once played a leading role in guiding the film industry. He noted that the association had gone through certain ups and downs in recent years but expressed hope that the new committee led by V.N. Aditya would bring it back to a strong and active position. He also stressed that both winners and those who lost in the elections are part of the same fraternity and urged everyone to work together for the welfare of directors.

Director N. Shankar said the members of the association had placed great trust in the new committee by electing them with a strong mandate. He expressed confidence that the new leadership would function in a way that respects and fulfills that trust.

Filmmaker Meher Ramesh praised V.N. Aditya’s contribution to the industry and said he enjoys great respect among filmmakers. He pointed out that Aditya had also served on the National Awards jury and has been actively encouraging new directors by helping them present their stories to producers and get opportunities in filmmaking. He said it was a matter of happiness for the entire industry that Aditya was elected as the President of the association.

Treasurer Sai Rajesh highlighted the welfare initiatives taken up by the association in the past year, stating that they carried out several activities that had not been done earlier. He said the eight promises made during the election campaign played an important role in earning the support of members. According to him, the team managed to collect donations from leading heroes and directors without touching the association’s core funds and used that support to provide insurance coverage for all members for two years. He added that the new committee would now focus on providing permanent insurance coverage for members and continue welfare initiatives such as the mid-day meals program for the association.

Newly elected President V.N. Aditya thanked the members for placing their trust in his panel and said the results clearly showed the confidence directors have in their leadership. He revealed that out of the 18 candidates who contested from their panel, 16 had won, which he described as a strong mandate from the members. Aditya also credited Sai Rajesh for working tirelessly to ensure the panel’s victory.

He noted that even directors who had previously contested from other panels chose to join their team this time, indicating growing unity within the association. Prominent filmmakers such as Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Anil Ravipudi, despite their busy schedules, participated in the voting process and supported the democratic spirit of the association.

Aditya assured that the new committee would focus on fulfilling the promises made during the election campaign. He said their priorities include strengthening welfare programs, ensuring health security for members, and providing support for film production opportunities for directors within the association. He concluded by thanking everyone in the industry who supported the panel and promised to work for the overall development of the Telugu Film Directors’ Association.
