As the T20 World Cup India 2026 finals are approaching, the Western Railway has announced to run superfast special trains between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad, aimed to make the commute easier for the travellers and to meet the travel demand. The Western Railways issued a statement, announcing the introduction of special trains for the much-awaited T20 World Cup.
These trains will have special fares and will provide enhanced travel options for passengers.
Details of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Special Train
Mumbai-Ahmedabad: Saturday night and Sunday morning
(Two special trains each day)
Mumbai To Ahmedabad
Train Number: 09027/09028 – Mumbai Central to Ahmedabad AC Superfast Tejas Special
Departure: Mumbai Central – Train No. 09027 to depart on March 7 night (11:45 PM)
Arrival: Ahmedabad: Sunday morning – 8:30 AM
Ahmedabad To Mumbai
Train Number: 09028
Departure: Ahmedabad – Train No. 09027 to depart on March 9 night (3:00 AM)
Arrival: Mumbai Central: 11:15 AM
Enroute Halt: The train will stop at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch, and Vadodara stations in both directions.
Coach Composition: train will have First AC, AC 2-Tier, and AC 3-Tier coaches

Mumbai To Ahmedabad
Train Number: 09021/09022 – Mumbai Central to Ahmedabad AC Superfast Special
Departure: Mumbai Central – Train No. 09021 to depart on March 8 (6:20 AM)

Departure: Ahmedabad – Train No. 09022 to depart on March 8 (3:10 PM)
Arrival: Mumbai Central: 9:45 PM
Enroute Halts: Train will stop at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch, and Vadodara stations.
Coach Composition: This train will feature Vistadome, Executive Anubhuti, Executive Chair Car, and AC Chair Car coaches.

These trains will be running on special fares and will be aimed at providing comfort to the passengers.
Rajiv Singal, member, Western Railway Mumbai’s Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee, told mid-day, “Yesterday, I had met Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Pankaj Singh of Western Railway, requesting him to run two special trains from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on Saturday night and two special trains on Sunday morning for the T20 World Cup final to be held in Ahmedabad. I am thankful to him for agreeing to the request.”
Vineet Abhishek, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, said that these trains will help cater to the increased demand, especially during the peak travel season.
