Ahmedabad Ambulance Fire: A day-old baby, two men, and a woman were charred to death while going to a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in an ambulance. According to the officials, the moving vehicle caught fire mid-way near Modasa town in north Gujarat’s Aravalli district on Tuesday night. The incident occurred a few feet away from a fuel station. Apart from those who died in the fire incident, three other people suffered severe burn injuries. The situation at the incident site is currently normal, as the officials immediately rushed to the incident site to put out the fire. However, the four people were burned to death by then.
RD Dabhi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, shared that the three people who were sitting in the driver’s cabin were badly injured. “They were sent to a hospital for urgent medical attention. Meanwhile, the forensic team has reached the incident site for further proceedings. Officials are trying to ascertain the reason of the fire”.
Officials said the family, affected in the fire, was taking the newborn to Ahmedabad for better medical attention. However, the incident left residents shocked. The police have launched an investigation.
