Bengaluru: A routine lunch break turned fatal for a young bank employee in Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar , after a speeding bike hit her while she was crossing the road. The victim, Yogeshwari, 27, worked at an HDFC Bank branch on Rajkumar Road. The accident occurred around 12:30 pm near the bank on Monday, when she had stepped out with a colleague to bring lunch and was returning to the office.
According to the police, the two women were crossing the road when Yogeshwari’s colleague noticed a bike approaching and stopped midway. Believing she had enough time to cross, Yogeshwari moved ahead. The bike hit her with force, throwing her onto the road and leaving her critically injured.
CCTV Footage Emerges
CCTV footage of the incident shows the bike rider was overspeeding, while the deceased attempted to cross the road in a hurry which led to the fatal crash.

Rushed to Hospital, Declared Dead
She was rushed to Suguna Hospital for emergency treatment, but doctors declared her dead due to severe injuries. The sudden death has left her family, colleagues and residents of the area in shock.
The bike rider, identified as Deepan, 21, also fell during the accident and sustained injuries. He was taken to a Command Hospital for treatment. A post-mortem examination of Yogeshwari’s body was conducted at Victoria Hospital.

Rajajinagar traffic police visited the spot soon after the incident, carried out an inspection and registered a case. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether negligence was involved.
