PM Modi launches Rs 16,680 crore projects in Ajmer, flags off HPV drive

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 16,680 crore in Ajmer, covering urban development, drinking water supply, road infrastructure, irrigation, energy and industrial sectors.

Addressing a public rally, the Prime Minister said the BJP’s double-engine government in Rajasthan has completed two years and that the state is moving ahead on a new development trajectory.

“The promises of development with which the BJP government came to serve you are being fulfilled at a rapid pace. Today marks a step towards accelerating that development journey,” he said.

Highlighting the scale of the projects, PM Modi said initiatives worth around Rs 17,000 crore related to Rajasthan’s development were launched on the occasion. He added that new capacity is being created in sectors such as roads, electricity, water, health and education, which will enhance public convenience and generate employment opportunities for youth.

Taking aim at the previous state government, he said that until two years ago, Rajasthan was frequently in the news over corruption and paper leaks in recruitment examinations. He said strict action is now being taken against those involved in such irregularities.

Referring to employment generation, the Prime Minister noted that appointment letters were distributed to more than 21,000 youth, calling it a “major change” in the state’s governance and recruitment process.

During the visit, PM Modi also launched a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign aimed at preventing cervical cancer among girls aged 14 years and above.

“From this land of brave women, I have had the opportunity to launch an important campaign for the daughters of the entire country. The HPV vaccination campaign is an important step towards women’s empowerment,” he said.

Referring to Ajmer’s cultural heritage, he described it as a land of faith and valour, home to pilgrimage sites and associated with revolutionary figures.

The Prime Minister also mentioned his recent visit to Israel, stating that people there remember the valour of Major Dalpat Singh. He said he had paid tribute to the officer in the Israeli Parliament.

As part of the infrastructure push, the Prime Minister inaugurated key National Highway projects, including the four-lane Greenfield Expressway from Bandikui to Jaipur, the six-lane access-controlled Package 7 of the Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor, and the eight-lane Package 14 of the Delhi–Vadodara Access Controlled Greenfield Expressway.

He also laid the foundation stone for a four-lane elevated road in Jodhpur city and the Malabmori–Mangrol–Baran State Highway in Baran district.

To strengthen drinking water infrastructure, foundation stones were laid for four packages of the Nonera Major Drinking Water Project and five packages of the Parwan-Akawad Major Drinking Water Project.

In the renewable energy sector, the Prime Minister inaugurated transmission systems for evacuation of power from Renewable Energy Zones in Rajasthan. He also laid the foundation stone for five 220 kV grid substations and two 400 kV grid substations along with associated transmission lines.

The visit combined healthcare outreach, infrastructure expansion and employment initiatives, marking a comprehensive development push in the state.
