Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hailed the NDA’s performance in the Bihar Assembly election as a “victory of good governance and development”, saying the massive mandate reflected voters’ confidence in the alliance’s track record and its vision for a “Developed Bihar”.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “The NDA has ensured all-round development of the state. The people have given us a massive majority after witnessing our track record and our vision to take the state to new heights. I heartily congratulate Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ji and our NDA allies Chirag Paswan ji, Jitan Ram Manjhi ji, and Upendra Kushwaha ji for this resounding victory.”
In another post, the Prime Minister added, “Victory of good governance has been achieved. Victory of development has been achieved. Victory of the spirit of public welfare has been achieved. Victory of social justice has been achieved. My deepest gratitude to the family members of Bihar, who have blessed the NDA with a historic and unprecedented victory in the 2025 Assembly elections. This resounding public mandate will empower us to serve the people and work with renewed resolve for Bihar.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the verdict underlined the belief of voters in performance-driven governance.
“This is the victory of every Bihari who believes in a ‘Developed Bihar.’ Those who indulge in jungle raj and appeasement politics—no matter what guise they come in—will not get the opportunity to loot. The public now gives its mandate solely on the basis of performance”, the Home Minister said in a post on X.
Congratulating the NDA leadership, he added, “I congratulate Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar and all the leaders and workers of the NDA. I also extend my greetings to all the workers of BJP Bihar, from the booth level to the state level, who helped deliver this result through their tireless efforts.”
Reassuring voters, especially women, Shah said the NDA government would work with renewed commitment.
“I assure the people of Bihar—and especially our mothers and sisters—that the mandate you have given to the NDA with hope and trust will be fulfilled with even greater dedication under the leadership of Modi ji,” he said.
According to the Election Commission of India, by 5:30 p.m., the NDA was leading in 204 constituencies.
