Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the results of the Maharashtra civic polls reflect a strengthening bond between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the people of the state, adding that the mandate would lend fresh momentum to development and celebrate Maharashtra’s rich cultural legacy.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Thank you, Maharashtra! The dynamic people of the state have blessed the NDA’s agenda of pro-people good governance. The results of the municipal corporation elections indicate that the NDA’s bond with the people of Maharashtra has further deepened. Our track record and vision for development have struck a chord. My gratitude to people across Maharashtra. This is a vote to add momentum to progress and to celebrate the glorious culture the state is associated with.”
Praising party workers, he added, “I am very proud of every NDA karyakarta who worked tirelessly among the people across Maharashtra. They spoke about our alliance’s track record, highlighted our vision for the future, and effectively countered the Opposition’s falsehoods. My best wishes to them.”
Reacting to the results, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance’s emphatic victory underscored the people’s faith in the NDA’s development-oriented policies.
“The resounding victory of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the Maharashtra municipal corporation elections clearly shows that the people across every corner of the country have complete faith only in the development policies of the NDA led by PM Shri Narendra Modi ji,” said Shah.
“This historic success is the people’s stamp of approval on the development and public welfare work carried out by the Mahayuti government in the state. Heartfelt gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for this immense support. Heartiest congratulations to Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde ji, BJP State President Shri Ravindra Chavan ji, and all the workers of BJP-Shiv Sena on this victory,” he added.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also welcomed the outcome, calling it a strong endorsement of transparent administration and accountable governance. He said the victory reflected public trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and credited the tireless efforts of BJP workers and the support of the people of Maharashtra.
Polling for a total of 29 municipal corporations across Maharashtra was held on January 15.
