Air Marshal Tejinder Singh assumed charge as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the South Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force on January 1, 2026.
After taking over the new appointment, the Air Marshal paid homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the war memorial.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on June 13, 1987. A Category ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor, he has over 4,500 hours of flying experience. He is also an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and the National Defence College.
During his distinguished career, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh has commanded a fighter squadron, a radar station and a premier fighter base. He has also served as Air Officer Commanding, Jammu and Kashmir.
His staff appointments include operational staff at a Command Headquarters, Air Commodore (Personnel Officers-I) at Air Headquarters, Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Financial Planning) at Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, Air Commodore (Aerospace Safety), Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operations – Offensive), Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operations – Strategy) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan), Senior Air Staff Officer at Eastern Air Command, and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff at Air Headquarters.
Prior to assuming his present role, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Training Command of the Indian Air Force.
In recognition of his meritorious service, he was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in 2007 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022 by the President of India.
