Film producer and environmental advocate Pragya Kapoor has been steadily building her presence beyond cinema through Ek Saath – The Earth Foundation, an initiative she launched in 2022 to promote sustainable and conscious living. In a recent interaction, she reflected on the support she received from actor Aditya Roy Kapur at the very start of the foundation’s journey.
“Apart from his good looks, I think what really sets Aditya apart is that he doesn’t overthink things,” Pragya shared. “When I asked him to join me for the launch of my NGO, the Ek Saath Foundation, he said yes in a heartbeat—no questions asked, no managers or entourage, just him, comfortable and secure in who he is. That’s what I love about him. If he believes in something, he’s all in.”
The two first met during the filming of Fitoor in 2016, directed by Pragya’s husband Abhishek Kapoor. Reflecting on that time, she added, “He’s as kind and down-to-earth as he was when I first met him during the shoot of Fitoor.”
Through Ek Saath, Pragya Kapoor continues to push for grassroots impact, using her platform to highlight environmental issues and engage others from the film industry and beyond in supporting the cause.
Since its inception, Ek Saath has undertaken a number of impactful environmental initiatives, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas. These include waste management projects in slum settlements aimed at turning them into zero-waste zones, beach clean-ups at Carter Road, waste control at Elephanta Island, and tree plantation drives in Colaba.
Meanwhile, Aditya Roy Kapur is currently gearing up for the release of the highly awaited Anurag Basu anthology Metro In Dino starring Sara Ali Khan, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Pankaj Tripathi. The film is slated to hit theatres on July 4.
