75-year-old man duped of Rs 7.86 crore; cybercriminals posed as Mumbai Police, ED using fake documents



A 75-year-old Kolhapur resident was defrauded of Rs 7.86 crore by cybercriminals posing as Mumbai Police and ED officials. The fraudsters falsely claimed he was being investigated for funding a banned terror group and money laundering. The victim, a retired refinery executive, transferred his life savings to various accounts across India after being manipulated with forged documents from reputable institutions.
