Mohammad Azharuddin, the Congress leader and former cricketer, has declared his candidacy for the Jubilee Hills by-election, necessitated by the passing of MLA Maganti Gopinath. Speaking from his residence, Azharuddin affirmed his allegiance to the Congress party and highlighted the backing he has received from prominent figures such as AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi.
