CBFC objects to Michael Jackson, love birds, and logic in Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par and Twitter can't stop laughing

Earlier this week, Bollywood Hungama reported on the mind-boggling and borderline surreal demands made by the CBFC for Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, social media didn’t just react—it exploded. From asking filmmakers to insert quotes they never wrote, to objecting to references as innocuous as Michael Jackson, the board’s requests left audiences baffled and filmmakers biting their tongues.

Naturally, Twitter had no chill. Netizens, critics, and cine-lovers unleashed a collective digital eye-roll, calling out what many described as creative hostage-taking, morality policing, and certification gone rogue. The fact that these cuts were demanded from a film already certified ‘A’ only added fuel to the fire.

Here’s a roundup of the most savage, hilarious, and furious tweets that prove one thing — India’s censor board has once again managed to unite the internet… against itself.

India has the worst film certification board in the entire world. pic.twitter.com/7Zz9osGs5M

Yes..when a film is certified as “A” – Adults only..there is no need for any cuts in the movie..the audience can always make a judgement..censor board in India is packed with people who have no idea of CREATIVITY..rather they act like morality police..

What’s the link between MJ and Love birds?? How’s that even a replacement. Have they lost it?

Such a weird demand, interfering with the creative integrity of a film, in a manner that demands submission, or else….

Censoring in india is an everlasting process. It can continue until all sections are happy with the film.

WTF ? How bizarre is this, why should the filmmakers be forced to add a quote they do not want to add ? Also what Issue does this Film Circumcision board have with Michael Jackson ?? @anon10011994

Funny how Indian censorship works !!!!!! They wanna cut the stupidest things regarding religion , caste , politics and sex – ans reality is the country is obsessed with fair skin , gender inequality , obsessed with sex in real life
lol double standards ?

It’s strange that we have OTT platforms that get wide leeway and here we have films being censored, I guess provides employment to a few !!
